BERRYVILLE — Three men and a juvenile have been arrested and charged after police said they stole cocaine and cash from a man and cash from another man in a driveway outside a home in the 800 block of Summit Point Road in Clarke County about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.

Winchester residents Victor Josue Hernandez, 18, of the 200 block of Artifact Avenue, Pable Rosendo Melchor, 27, of the 1200 block of Baker Lane, and Christopher Alexander Valeriano, 19, of the 1100 block of Allen Drive, were all charged with two counts of robbery and one charge of possession of a firearm while committing a felony. Chief Deputy Travis Sumption of the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday wouldn’t say what the juvenile was charged with or give the juvenile’s gender.

However, a criminal complaint said it was Hernandez’s girlfriend. The four were stopped in a car driven by Melchor in Frederick County shortly after the robbery. Police said the car and suspects fit the description of the robbers given to them by witnesses who phoned police. The complaint said Hernandez was carrying an ounce-and-a-half of cocaine, which has a street value of about $1,800. The car occupants said a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol found in the car belonged to Hernandez.

Sumption said the arrests have led to the seizure of seven ounces of cocaine, and the Sheriff’s Office is working with the Northwest Virginia Drug and Gang Task Force on the case.

Police said Saulo Alain Morales-Hidalgo, 22, of the 800 block of Summit Point Road, was robbed of the cocaine. A second man had his wallet stolen. Morales-Hidlgo was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell.
