Memphis Express look to revolutionize fan experience at Liberty Bowl
Express make home debut vs. Arizona Hotshots Saturday 7 PM
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The stage is set at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium for the Memphis Express home opener against the Arizona Hotshots on Saturday.
The Memphis Tigers home, is now dressed up for the Express, and team president Kosha Irby and his staff have been hard at work to create new areas in the stadium to enhance the football viewing experience.
What’s New
-Two Party Decks: sponsored by Camus Cognac and Old Dominick Distillery, the two decks feature a cash bar.
-First Class Area: The on-field seating area features what Irby called “an all-inclusive food experience." Food and drinks will be delivered to fans at their seats. At the end of the season those ticketholders can take their First Class seat home as a souvenir.
-Silent Disco Area: This area in the bleachers can fit four to five hundred fans, who will be provided headphones to wear during the game, which will play music from three different DJ’s inside of the stadium.
“We want to create unique experiences,” Irby said. “Everybody’s had football, everybody’s had a silent disco, but nobody’s ever combined them together. That’s what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to create unique experiences for the city of Memphis.”
Putting It All Together
Irby has personally seen the day to day transformation of the Liberty Bowl into the new home for the Express. As kickoff approaches he said he’s excited to see the final product on display.
“It’s kind of like giving birth to a baby," Irby said. "We’ve been working on this thing for the last six months. We need three more months, we could probably do a little bit more, but we’re excited about where we are. It’s a startup. You’re really truly trying to make a stamp. We think we’re going to create a great foundation for us to build upon for the remaining four games.”
Kickoff for the game is set for 7 PM.
