A Maine man is accused of stealing a truck, ramming it into a business and then running from sheriff's deputies, Chief Deputy William Gagne, of the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office, said Wednesday.
On Tuesday night, state police went to Gowell's Shop N Save in Litchfield, Maine, in response to an alarm. When troopers arrived, they noticed a vehicle had rammed the front door.
Troopers were able to identify the vehicle involved. It was from Industrial Roofing in Lewiston, deputies said.
Troopers then went to the Lewiston business and learned the truck had been stolen and the driver had gone through a gate to steal it, Gagne said.
On Wednesday morning, an Androscoggin County sheriff's deputy found the truck on Center Street in Auburn.
The driver, later identified as Brooks Noddin, 26, of Lewiston, sped off and a chase ensued into Minot.
Noddin ended up losing control on Route 119.
He ran into the woods, but was later found lying in some snow.
Noddin suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He remained in the hospital as of Wednesday night, officials said.
He was arrested on charges of eluding a law enforcement officer, driving to endanger, operating after suspension, theft by unauthorized taking and a probation hold.
