Wednesday’s storm is not a welcome sight to people still feeling the effects of last week’s nor’easter, but one man is getting creative.Joseph Soares is paddleboarding his family to and from their Duxbury house, which is still surrounded by floodwaters. He takes each of his three kids to school and brings their dog, Niya, for daily walks. >> Download the free WMUR app“It was just a way of transporting without getting wet,” Soares said, laughing. “I have my vehicle parked on higher ground on the opposite side in my neighbor’s yard.” The other day, Soares rescued a Chinese food delivery driver after he got stranded. “The car was floating. He was panicking,” Soares said. “We got out there, put him on the paddleboard and I paddled him down to the police.” With more coastal flooding expected from the next storm, Soares said he’s trying to make the most of a messy situation. “Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade,” Soares said.
