Nashua police arrest man seen shoving woman in apparent road rage dispute
Ricardo Montanez faces simple assault charge

A Hudson man is facing a charge after video appeared to show him shoving a woman in an apparent road rage dispute.Ricardo Montanez, 28, is charged with simple assault.>> Download the FREE WMUR appPolice said Montanez was the man seen on a witness’s video Sunday morning shoving another driver after a minor crash.>> View the full videoThe woman who was pushed reached out to WMUR sister station WCVB, saying the other driver became angry when she did not go right when a light turned green, then passed her. At the next stop light, she claims he yelled that he was going to hit her, then intentionally backed into her. Montanez saw things differently. “She drove into my vehicle,” he said over the phone. “She was crazy, so at that point, I get back into my vehicle.” The man claimed he acted in self-defense when he shoved the woman. “And now, she gets out of her vehicle, comes up to my door and punches my window and (is) opening my door,” he said. “What was I supposed to do? I didn't know if she was going to hit me, smack me or what.” Montanez was released on $5,000 personal-recognizance bail. He will be arraigned March 22.
