FHP identifies pedestrian killed in I-10 crash in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A 32-year-old man is dead after running onto Interstate 10 Monday night and getting hit by a pickup truck, FHP said. 

The pedestrian was Terry N. Cain, 32, of Bonifay, Florida, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release Tuesday.

The accident happened 9:25 p.m. Monday near mile marker 199 when a pick up truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 in the outside lane.

The pedestrian was walking on the inside shoulder of the westbound lanes and began to dash into the roadway from the inside shoulder for an unknown reason, causing the pick up truck's front left to collide with the pedestrian.

Leon County EMS pronounced the pedestrian deceased on the scene.

Witnesses said Cain was walking closely to the roadway and was running on the outside shoulder of the roadway before running into the roadway.


FHP reporting fatal accident on I-10 in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida Highway Patrol is on the scene of a fatal traffic crash on I-10. 

According to FHP, they were called to I-10 WB near mile marker 199 at about 9:32 p.m. Monday. 

FHP is advising drivers to use caution in the area.  

At this time we do not know how many cars were involved or if there are any other injuries.
