TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested for the kidnapping and murder of 26-year-old Elisa Thompson.

The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested 31-year-old Reginald Gibson on multiple charges related to murder, kidnapping, and carjacking.

While searching for Thompson, who was reported missing on Friday, investigators learned that Gibsonabducted Thompson from the parking lot of her place of employment.

Several hours later, Gibson was seen committing a burglary in the 1400 block of Nena Hills Court while driving Thompson’s vehicle. 

Later Friday evening, he was spotted walking around near the 900 block of East Magnolia Drive. When officers attempted to take him into custody, Gibson ran away but was later captured.

Police say Gibson was also wanted for an unrelated burglary/kidnapping that occurred on Tuesday, November 27 near the 1000 block of North Duval Street. The victim in that case sustained non-life threating injuries.

Gibson has been charged for the burglary/kidnapping near the 1000 block of North Duval Street, the burglary near the 1400 block of Nena Hills Court, and the death of Elisa Thompson.

He was later transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for booking. Gibson is being held on a $338,500 bond.

On Friday, TPD received a call about a missing woman. 

The reporting person advised that 26-year-old Elisa Thompson, who was last seen driving her black 2016 Nissan Rogue, had not picked up her children from daycare.

The caller said they were concerned for her welfare.  

While continuing to search for Thompson, police discovered her vehicle in the parking lot of the Chuck E Cheese's at 2810 Sharer Road. Thompson was found dead inside the car. 

Investigators have identified a person of interest and have them in custody. At this time, police say there is no threat to the community.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Police are searching for a missing 26-year-old mother of two.

The Tallahassee Police Department’s Special Victims Unit is seeking information on the location of Elisa Thompson.

Elisa Thompson was last seen on Thursday in the area of 1600 block of Summit Lake Drive. She is described as a 26-year-old woman around 5-foot-5 with brown hair and eyes.

It is unknown what Thompson was last seen wearing.

Family members on Facebook say the mother of two was last seen in her black Nissan Rogue with FAMU tag on the front.
