TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Investigators have filed more charges against a Tallahassee man suspected in a string of burglaries in northwest Tallahassee. 

Xavier Tyrique McMillian was already jailed on charges of burglary and aggravated assault for pointing a gun at a victim. He and Landon Wilson were recently arrested as suspects in a string of Tallahassee burglaries.

McMillian now faces a total of 15 counts for additional charges that include grand theft and firearms theft. He and Wilson are accused of committing the offenses in October and November 2018.

The Tallahassee Police Department says McMillian is connected to two burglaries, one armed burglary in the 4100 block of Mission Trace Boulevard on Nov. 11 and one unarmed burglary in the 4000 block of Gearhart Road on Nov. 26. He is also connected to another burglary in the 4000 block of Gearhart Road on Oct. 10.

McMillian remained in the Leon County Detention Center on Thursday on bonds totaling $89,500.

McMillian's total charges to date:

  • Grand theft of $300 or more but less than $5,000 (2 counts)
  • Burglary of a dwelling while unarmed
  • Burglary of a dwelling or structure while armed (2 counts)
  • Criminal mischief of $1,000 or more
  • Grand theft of firearms (5 counts)
  • Robbery with a firearm (2 counts)
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

Police arrest two men suspected in string of Tallahassee burglaries

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Two men have been arrested after police searched their Tallahassee home and found over 70 items of stolen property, including several stolen guns.

On Monday, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a burglary near the 4000 block of Gearhart Road.

While standing outside waiting for officers to arrive, the victim spotted 20-year-old Xavier McMillian and 20-year-old Landon Wilson in the parking lot and suspected they were the ones who committed the burglary.

Police say the victim confronted McMillian and during the confrontation, McMillian pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victim before running away from the scene. 

Later that afternoon, officers found McMillian and Wilson at McMillian's home.

After obtaining a search warrant for the home, police say over 70 items of stolen property from various burglaries were discovered. Several of these items were guns, to include the one used during the aggravated assault.

Both McMillian and Wilson were charged with burglary and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for booking. Additionally, McMillian was charged with aggravated assault for pointing a gun at the victim. 

Police say additional charges are forthcoming.
