The Albany Empire started this season with a mission statement of "Unfinished Business" and with a blow out win over Columbus Destroyers on Sunday they're a step closer to completing that mission. The Empire have clinched the top seed in this year's Arena League Playoffs and have set their schedule for the post season.

With a 49 - 18 win over the now 1 -10 Destroyers the 9 - 2 Albany Empire have locked up the top seed in the AFL playoffs. So what does that mean? The Empire will now face the fourth seed, which is still up for grabs. Albany will also get to choose which game they will host. The Empire has chosen to host the 4th seed on Saturday, July 27th at 7 pm with the Block Party starting at 3 pm.

The final regular-season game is this Saturday July 20th at 7 pm against the Philadelphia Soul here at the Times Union Center. This game still matters because you don't want to give the Soul any reason to believe they can beat the Empire in the post season and momentum is HUGE in the AFL.
