PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Summer break will once again end after Labor Day for students in Philadelphia public schools.

On Thursday night, the school board approved the 2019-2020 school calendar.

The school year will start on September 3.

This year, students returned to class on August 27 while temperatures were still scorching.

A heat wave resulted in several early dismissals.
