Jefferson City woman killed in Cole County crash

CENTERTOWN, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City woman died in a crash Tuesday just outside Centertown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

Mlinda Hammond, 46, was killed when another vehicle collided with her Ford Freestyle after Hammond ran a stop sign at Highway 50 and Route U just before 8 a.m., according to the patrol.

A passenger in Hammond's vehicle, Brittney Summers, 24, of Jefferson City, was taken to University of Missouri Hospital with serious injuries.

Tammy Meisenheimer, 57, of California, Missouri, was driving the Jeep Cherokee that hit Hammond's vehicle. She was also taken to University Hospital for serious injuries, the patrol reported.

The women were not wearing seat belts.
