A former Columbus deputy fire chief has pleaded guilty to dereliction of duty, a second degree misdemeanor, per City of Columbus Zach Klein.

Jack Reall has agreed to pay the City of Columbus $57,710.44 after pleading guilty to his part in a payroll scheme.

“As part of the plea negotiations, all parties felt this was an appropriate resolution in this case,” said Columbus City Attorney First Assistant Prosecutor Joseph Gibson.

Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien has agreed not to pursue felony charges as part of the plea agreement related to this conduct, per Klein.

ABC 6/FOX 28 will continue to follow this developing story.
