South Dakota Primary Results

Based upon the analysis of the vote, Edison projects Joe Biden will win the South Dakota Democratic primary.

South Dakota’s absentee voting period will came to a close on June 2, with limited polling places available for residents to cast their votes. State election officials mailed every registered voter in the state an absentee ballot application. There are 16 delegates available for Democrats and 29 for Republicans.

State significance

South Dakota is a safe red state but saw a competitive Demcoratic primary in 2016 when Hillary Clinton won with 51% of the vote.
