22-year-old man shot in West Ashley dies, Charleston Co. deputies investigating

Charleston County Sheriff's Office says a man found shot in West Ashley Tuesday night has died.

Deputies say they responded to the 700 block of Hitching Post Rd. in the Ponderosa subdivision around 7 PM to a report of a shooting, and found an unconscious man in the yard with a gunshot wound.

The victim, identified by the Charleston County Coroner's Office as 22-year-old Clifford Harrison Jr., was taken to MUSC for treatment.

The Charleston man was pronounced dead at 10:28 PM from the gunshot injury, according to Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Dobbins.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide, according to Capt. Patrick Morris.
