White smoke filled the air over streets in downtown Charleston early Thursday morning.

The Charleston Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Sheppard Street just before 7 a.m.

Crews arrived to find a single-family home on fire, according to the Charleston Fire Department.

The single-family home was reportedly vacant, according to the fire department.

Crews worked quickly to extinguish the initial blaze and a fire that was spreading to an adjacent building.

No injuries were reported.

The Fire Marshal Division responded to investigate.
