The arch-rival Los Angeles Lakers will play the Sacramento Kings for the first time Nov. 10 in Sacramento, a game that will be a must-watch for Kings fans.

First home game against a bitter rival? Check. LeBron James’ first trip to Sacramento as a Laker? Check. De’Aaron Fox versus Lonzo Ball? check. (Assuming Lonzo plays). There are storylines galore in what will be the newest iteration of the “rivalry” that hasn’t been much of a rivalry over the past decade. Regardless, this game will be must Watch T.V. for Sacramento Kings fans this season.

While both teams will play each other on Oct. 4, it’ll be an exhibition match that has little importance. Fortunately for Kings fans, the first regular season matchup between these two teams will be a home game for Sacramento, something that will no doubt add to an already electric environment inside the Golden 1 Arena.

Last season the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Lakers split the season series at an even 2-2. Both teams had a game in which they won by more than 10 points, and both played in nail-biting contest in which they won by less than five points.

The series saw De’Aaron Fox and Lonzo Ball go head to head twice, with Fox playing all four contests and Ball two. In those four contests for the Kings, Fox shot a paltry 37.9/46.1/55.5 to go with 13.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Ball, for what it’s worth, didn’t fare much better. In his two games, Ball shot 33.3/25.0/0.0 to go with 8 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals.

Both rookie point guards dealt with injuries and a sub par roster last season so it’ll be interesting to see how much better (if at all) the two perform this season with a full NBA season under their belts as well as player with a better roster (Lonzo much more so than Fox).

If the *great* Kings – Lakers rivalry and the forced rivalry between Fox and Ball isn’t enough, LeBron James will also be making his first trip up north as a member of the Lakers.
