What $600K buys around Atlanta right now

New, 33 comments

With similar sizes and ages, these five residences from Buckhead to Grant Park vary mostly by location

In this installment of Curbed Comparisons, we’re taking a look at what’s available to purchase for $600,000 throughout intown Atlanta.

Surprisingly, this category of listings shares a lot of similarities right now: Square footage is similar, all were constructed in the same era (except for the 1950s house), and most share the same or similar architectural style. What is different, though, is the distinctive locations, ranging from Buckhead and Grant Park to Virginia-Highland, and even Inman Park.

Located on a brick-paved street in Grant Park, this renovated 1930 bungalow features four bedrooms and three baths in 1,954 square feet. Improvements include a new roof, new windows, and new hardwoods throughout. The kitchen and bathrooms also were updated, including the “spa-like” master bathroom. The current asking price is $599,900.

Touted as a “classic,” this 1930 bungalow in Virginia-Highland is filled with “timeless” details such as crystal doorknobs, picture molding, and beadboard paired with modern finishes. The landscaped front yard adds plenty of charm and curb appeal, while the small, fenced-in backyard includes a deck, albeit not a large one. Asking price is $600,000.

Over in “sought-after” Wildwood across from Beaverbrook Park, just west of Buckhead’s Atlanta Memorial Park, this 1959 ranch includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms in 1,668 square feet. Perfect for entertaining, the interior comes with both a formal living room and dining room, while the exterior contains both a front and rear patio. The current asking price is $599,000.

“Move-in ready” in Buckhead’s Garden Hills, this 1,979-square-foot brick home is outfitted with architectural details like the “unique” window and door moldings and the “classic” kitchen and bathroom tiles. Of course, there’s also the “dream of a sunroom,” which is complemented on the outside by the “sprawling decks” and gated courtyard. Asking price is $599,000.

With four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 1,485 square feet, this 1928 cottage in Inman Park is touted as a “rare opportunity” for potential buyers. Features include period details, hardwood floors, decorative fireplaces, and original, oversized windows. Given the circa-1910 guest house in the backyard, this could be a real two-for-one investment. The current asking price is $599,000.
