Nine Atlanta Area Waffle Houses Are Hosting Special Valentine’s Day Dinners

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and the time for snagging that coveted restaurant reservation is quickly running out. While some may opt for a rushed and overpriced prix-fixe dinner on one of the busiest restaurant days of the year, others have made it a yearly tradition to dine at a true Atlanta institution — Waffle House.

Over 200 Waffle House restaurants across the nation, including nine locations throughout metro Atlanta, will participate in the ATL-based breakfast chain’s 12th annual Valentine’s Day dinner. Expect candlelit booths draped in white tablecloths and a menu filled with specials ranging from heart-shaped waffles to T-bone steak and eggs served alongside the smothered and covered hash browns.

Each Waffle House creates special dishes to accompany the regular menu offerings, and puts its own spin on the Valentine’s decor for the evening. So, those dining at the Cheshire Bridge Road WAHO get a completely different experience than folks headed to the Chamblee Dunwoody Road restaurant.

Wendy Gardner, senior director of PR for Adult Swim and Turner Classic Movies, tells Eater Atlanta the Valentine’s Day dinner at Waffle House has been a “bucket list” item for her and husband Jeffrey.

“We are fans of Waffle House all year long, and when we heard there were locations doing special themed Valentine’s Day dinners, we had to check it out,” says Gardner.

The couple finally secured a reservation last year, and felt the Waffle House on Cheshire Bridge Road “really blew it out” with the decor and heart-shaped waffles. They hope to repeat the low-key Valentine’s Day dinner experience again this year at the Delk Road Waffle House in Marietta.
