Austin Bakery and Beer Garden Finally Opens in North Austin This Month

Easy Tiger, one of Austin’s best bakery and beer gardens, is finally opening that long-awaited North Austin location this weekend. Easy Tiger’s third Austin spot, to be found within the Linc at 6406 North Interstate 35 Frontage Road starting on Saturday, December 8.

The Highlight location of Easy Tiger is much larger than its original restaurant on East 6th Street, almost three times bigger actually. It’ll serve up its usual menu of baked goods, coffee, sausages, beers, whiskeys, etc.

Easy Tiger will eventually add weekend brunch (which it recently debuted at the East 6th Street location), as well as its fancy new drive-thru.

The Linc location will also house Easy Tiger’s commercial bakery, as well as feature dedicated areas for fermentation, sausage, and charcuterie. There are plans for public classes and events.

Initially, the bakery will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, with the beer garden from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Then the bakery will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight on Sunday, December 9 with the beer garden from 11 a.m. to midnight. Future hours will be announced later.

The first Easy Tiger opened on East 6th Street in 2012 under the ELM Restaurant Group umbrella. The Linc location was announced in 2014. The bakery/beer garden expanded with locations within Whole Foods 365 in Cedar Park in April 2017 and downtown food hall Fareground in January 2018. Easy Tiger left the ELM group in February.

Easy Tiger’s head baker David Norman is working on a bread cookbook, Bread on the Table: A Top Texas Baker Shares His Favorite Recipes, which is publishing in September 2019 through Ten Speed Press.

Also found in the Linc are Peruvian restaurant Lima Criolla, Tex-Mex restaurant Vivo, Portuguese grilled chicken spot Tio Pepe Chicken, Austin Film Society, and Pluckers Wing Bar.
