Lauded California Restaurant’s Austin Dinner
Legendary Berkeley restaurant Chez Panisse, known for defining California cuisine under Alice Waters, is coming to Austin for Jester King Brewery’s next supper club dinner. The dinner will feature five courses paired with beer and wine. It takes place on Thursday, November 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $195, which all proceeds going towards The Edible School Yard Project’s PEAS program.
Austin Women Wine Conference Speaker
Wine writer, wine author, and natural wine expert Alice Feiring, who recently published Natural Wine for the People earlier this summer, will be the keynote speaker at next year’s Wonder Women of Wine Conference (its second ever). It takes place on Saturday, March 28 through Sunday, March 29, 2020. Current early bird tickets range between $96 and $180
Italian Cookbook Dinner
Food writer Katie Parla is partnering with Austin pizzeria and wine restaurant Bufalina on a dinner based on her latest cookbook, Food of the Italian South. It takes place on Tuesday, November 12 at the East Cesar Chavez location from 5 to 11 p.m. The four-course dinner will feature recipes from the book, like short rib ragu and wood-fired whole fish. There are optional wine pairings too. Tickets, which are $75, come with copies of the book, the dinner, and a gift.
Barbecue Restaurant Changes
Brentwood barbecue restaurant Pit Barbecue has a new name because of new management. The Burnet Road restaurant is now called Big O’s Pit Barbecue under Taco Shack owner Orlando Arriaga.
