01/5Lalbagh Flower Show 2019
Every year the flower show is organised at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden on Independence Day and Republic Day. This year marks the 210th edition of the Independence Day flower show. The event commenced on August 9 and will end on August 18. The event was inaugurated by Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya and Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, wife of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, 26th head of the erstwhile royal family of the Kingdom of Mysore. The theme for this year's flower show is curated around the life and times of Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar, the last Maharaja of Mysore's royal clan. The show has been organised to commemorate his 100th birth anniversary. Around 13 lakh flowers have been used to create a royal theme in the iconic Lalbagh glasshouse. Photo by Kaushik JN/ MMCL

Not only from the country but people from all over the world visit the flower show every year to witness this beautiful phenomenon. The major attractions of this year's show are floral replicas of iconic places including Mysore's iconic Chamarajendra Wadiyar Circle, the Mysore Zoo and musical instruments like veena, tabla and violin. 04/5Setting new milestones
The Lalbagh Flower Show has achieved some new and astonishing milestones in 2019. They have brought in rare carnivorous and insectivorous plants which can trap insects with the help of their colour, odour and nectar.
