National Night Out is tonight, Tuesday, August 6! This fun, annual event is recognized throughout the country as a way for members of the community to come out and spend a safe evening with emergency personnel from their communities.

Montclair will celebrate National Night Out from 5 to 8 p.m. on Church Street and S. Park Streets. Citizens will get an opportunity to speak one on one with law enforcement officers from their cities, along with other emergency personnel. Children will also get to see, up close and personal, all of the equipment their first responders utilize on a daily basis.

Montclair Police Department, along with community partners, will hold National Night Out on South Park Street and Church Street, closing off both roadways, and creating a safe environment for all those that choose to come out. Local shops and vendors from Montclair will also be set up with all sorts of activities and gifts for families.

Bloomfield celebrates National Night Out at Foley Field. Gates open at 5:30, followed by a Police & Fire Softball game at 6 p.m. Live music starts at 7:30 p.m. by Alotta Colada. There will be free pizza, drinks, amusements and giveaways; refreshments courtesy of Brookdale ShopRite.

Verona holds its National Night Out celebration at the Verona Community Center (880 Bloomfield Ave., Verona), from 6-9 p.m. The event will feature demonstrations and exhibitions from Verona’s Police, Fire and Rescue, as well as family-friendly activities including inflatables and games, food trucks, obstacle courses and more.
