Hexham-based Hedley Planning Services targets £500k turnover

North East firm Hedley Planning Services is celebrating a “busier than ever” end to the year as it prepares for turnover growth in 2019.

The Hexham-based company recorded a 25% increase in trade over the last 12 months and expects revenues to hit £500k next year.

Hedley is currently steering through the redevelopment of leisure and school facilities in Ponteland. A planning decision on the £46m scheme, which will also see Ponteland Fire and Rescue Services relocate to a new site, is expected in early 2019.

The company said it has also seen “considerable” progress in the volume of re-planning work undertaken for house builders including Barratt and Avant Homes, securing approval for the development of nearly 2,000 new homes across Morpeth, Durham, Middlesbrough, Spennymoor and elsewhere.

Hedley Planning Services was founded in 2012 and employs a team of six.

Managing director Sean Hedley said: “We are now busier than ever, and we’re involved in planning work right across the region, which is encouraging and contributing to growth.

“Plans for strategic housing sites, the delivery of Ponteland fire station, a new wedding venue at Doxford Hall and further new homes are expected to come to fruition in the new 12 months, underpinning continued growth to our workload.”

He added: “Despite the uncertainty caused by Brexit, house building continues to be a busy sector for us and we expect to see more smaller builders entering the market in 2019.”
