A woman was taken to the hospital after firefighters responded to a fire in a Billings West End home Wednesday.
Firefighters responded to the blaze on the 2200 block of Golden Boulevard near Boulder Elementary School around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The woman was taken to Billings Clinic with injuries that didn't appear to be life threatening.
A room in the basement of the duplex was heavily damaged by fire, and the rest of the house sustained heavy smoke damage, according to a release from the fire department. The cost of the damage was estimated around $10,000.
The cause of the fire was not clear as of Wednesday evening. the property and its contents were insured.
Five engines and two ladders arrived at the scene. Billings police and American Medical Response also were on hand.
