Charges of gross sexual imposition were filed Wednesday against a Bismarck man who police say held a knife to a woman’s throat as he tried to force himself on her, and after she escaped threatened further force if she told anyone.
David Schneider, 39, made his initial court appearance Wednesday. He is charged with two felonies in an alleged 2017 incident near Menoken. Police say Schneider threatened a woman while tearing at her clothing, at one point pulling a knife from his pocket and telling her he was willing to use it, according to an affidavit.
The woman was able to pull the knife away as they struggled, then ran to her garage and locked herself in her vehicle. Schneider allegedly said that if she told anyone he’d come back, “he had guns, and that he knew how to use them,” police say.
Schneider’s attorney, Lloyd Suhr, declined comment on the case.
