An interim chief people officer for North Dakota state government has been tapped after the most recent appointee resigned two weeks into the job.
Lisa Kudelka will take over as interim chief people officer until a permanent replacement is found for Kelsey Roth, who resigned Nov. 13 after two weeks on the job. She returned to Blue Cross Blue Shield in Fargo, citing a "change of heart."
Kudelka retired in July after 21 years as director of human resources for Bismarck Public Schools. She previously worked as personnel director for the state Department of Health, as well as a training and development administrator for the state's central personnel division.
Roth was preceded by Cheri Schoenfish, who returned to Microsoft in Fargo after a yearlong "civic leave of absence."
Governor's spokesman Mike Nowatzki said Kudelka's appointment is "a cooperative decision" between the state Office of Management and Budget and the governor's office.
