The Dakota Access Pipeline should be rerouted through Bismarck-Mandan. All other major pipelines in this region should also pass through Bismarck-Mandan. We, the people of Bismarck-Mandan, should insist on this. Leadership means never asking other people to assume risk that one would not assume one's self. Bismarck-Mandan benefits from the petroleum industry, so Bismarck-Mandan should assume the risk.
The city of Mandan should be congratulated for accepting money from Energy Transfer Partners. So, it should be presumed that the city of Mandan would have no objection to major pipelines passing through its city limits. After all, it would be unfair to accuse the city of Mandan of accepting money for forcing the people of Standing Rock to accept risks of benzene spills that Mandan residents would never tolerate.
The University of Mary should be congratulated for raising over $100 million in its capital campaign. This includes a major contribution from Energy Transfer Partners. So, it should be presumed that the University of Mary, as America's Leadership University, would have no objection to major pipelines passing through its property. After all, it would be unfair to accuse the University of Mary of providing its moral stamp of approval for constructing a pipeline that the people of Standing Rock strongly oppose.

These pipelines need to get built on a well lighted pipeline bridge and painted with bright glow-in-the-dark paint so that any leakage can be found and repaired quickly, rather than hidden in a rural area where leakage is less likely to get noticed. Although the engineering firm GeoEngineers professionally tested the Dakota Access Pipeline's steel for realistic ground temperatures that would normally be found in Houston and the Amazon rainforest, we still need eyeballs watching their pipelines!
