No more Payless: store could shutter Boise-area locations

Another retailer struggling with bankruptcy appears poised to close all of its stores, meaning Boise shoe shoppers may have one less option for affordable kicks.

Reuters reports Payless ShoeSource will shut down all 2,300 store locations across the country. Three local stores are located inside Shopko locations – which are already slated to close in coming months as that chain goes through its own struggles.

Payless has four standalone locations in the Boise Towne Square, on Cleveland Blvd. in Nampa, on Milwaukee St. in Boise and on Fairview Ave. at Meridian Rd.

Reuters says going out of business sales could start at the stores in the next week.

Payless is the latest in a wave of struggling national chains shuttering stores in the area, including Gymboree, Sears, Crazy 8s and others
