One year after the Boise City Council approved a bike skills park in the Military Reserve area, the park is just about done.
In recent months, crews worked to regrade the former dog park area for the bike park. The project drew opposition from east end neighbors and environmentalists and led to testy hearings last year. The City of Boise kept the project from the public until after it accepted a donation from the JA & Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation for the project.
Crews laid down asphalt pump tracks, new bathrooms are in place, and landscaping, and irrigation work is underway.

The former dog park on the site will relocate just to the west of the bike skills area. The city is allowing the use of Fort Boise Park across the street for dogs off-leash.
The bike park should open this fall.
