‘This place is legit:’ Bench market & Mexican restaurant to expand to larger location

Campos Market plans a new, larger location in an empty Fairview Ave. restaurant building.

Campos currently occupies a small store on Orchard St. plans to move to the former Salon Eden event center at 6125 W. Fairview according to filings. The large 8,785 square foot building used to house The Office Bar & Grill, and Burger & Brew.

Campos plans to remodel the building to accommodate both its specialty grocery store business and a 44-seat restaurant.

Idaho Statesman reporter Nicole Foy named Campos one of the best places for tacos in the Treasure Valley, citing its carne asada variety. A 2011 Boise Weekly review echoed a similar sentiment. Yelp reviewer Justin P. said “This place is legit. The butcher can hook you up with pastor and everything to cook at home too!”

In addition to the carne asada and pastor, Campos Market offers a selection of enchiladas, flautas, burritos, and tortas.

Campos also operates a location in Nampa and opened the current Boise store in the former No Lawyers Bar & Grill spot on N. Orchard.

The application to convert the building will need approval through the City of Boise’s Design Review process. Campos has owned the property since 2011, according to Ada County Assessor records.
