Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) began construction this week on 8th Street between Bannock Street and State Street in Downtown Boise.
This project is an extension of the road construction that happened on 8th and Main – also known as “restaurant row”.
“Construction will result in an extension of existing 8th Street features between Main Street and Bannock that make the street a desirable location for retail and restaurants while expanding accessibility for the public,” an announcement on CCDC’s website said.

The first phase of construction started on Monday and will include roadwork on the Westside of 8th Street between Jefferson and Bannock.
During this phase, the road will be reduced to one lane. On-street parking along the Eastside of 8th Street will be open and available as well as walking and biking access.
Future construction will include a sidewalk expansion for patio use and a protected bike lane.
The project includes six phases and is expected to be complete by early January 2021.
