What $550,000 buys in Boston

The sum can command a house in neighborhoods such as Roslindale and Dorchester and sleeker condos in places like South Boston and East Boston

Roslindale

The 1,761-square-foot house at 75 Cliffmont Street comes with a large yard. It’s asking $550,000, and the sellers are offering $10,000 at closing for renovations.

South Boston

Unit 6 at 322 Athens Street is a 621-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bathroom with central air and in-unit laundry. There’s also a deck. The tag is $550,000, and the HOA is $221.

East Boston

The 810-square-foot Unit 1 at 288 Princeton Street is the product of a recent conversion, and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms—as well as extra soundproofing on the floor. There’s central air and washer-dryer hookups. The asking is $549,997, with an estimated HOA of $280.

Dorchester

The listing for the 2,071-square-foot house at 97 Evans Street says it’s in need of some TLC. But it does come with some serious space, even before you get to that, including the potential for five bedrooms. The asking is $549,000.

Dorchester

Farther east in Dorchester is the 1,207-square-foot Unit 1 at 495 Ashmont Street. It includes two bedrooms and one bathroom, and there’s some outdoor space. The $549,000 tag also covers a garage parking spot. The HOA is $180.
