Another Booming Chicken Restaurant Opens in Boston

Chinatown has a new source for fried chicken. Boom Crispy Chicken opened recently at 22 Kneeland St., the space that previously housed the Little Kitchen, and its menu includes an array of fried chicken, fries, and a few sides.

Boom Crispy Chicken joins Cambridge’s Chick Chick Boom in emphatically serving fried chicken (though the two are unrelated). The Boom Crispy Chicken menu incorporates multiple styles, including wings, chicken strips, popcorn chicken, and more, with seaweed, cheese, and spicy seasonings available. The restaurant also serves takoyaki and suyaki, braised pork rice, curry rice, and greens, and there are combo options that include skewers of either hot dog, tofu, fish balls, or sausage.

Boom Crispy Chicken is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the restaurant plans to add an option for online ordering soon. The tiny spot is focused on takeout, and those seeking a full-service fried chicken dinner (and booze) can find one a two-minute walk away at Crave — Mad for Chicken, which opened at 75 Kneeland St. back in 2014.
