Carson City Republican Women to hear U.S. Representative Mark Amodei
U.S. Representative Mark Amodei will be the guest speaker at the upcoming Tuesday, August 20 meeting of the Carson City Republican Women's Club. The public is invited to join us at the Casino Fandango Ballroom, Carson City to hear Representative Amodei provide the group with an update on the House of Representatives activities and his insight as to what is happening in Washington, D.C.
Representative Amodei is a native Nevadan, born in Carson City, having attended and graduated from Carson City High School and receiving a BA degree from the University of the Pacific's McGeorge Law School in 1983. He served our country from 1983 to 1987 in the U.S. Army JAG Corps. After leaving the Army, he practiced law in the private sector and was president of the NV Mining Association from 2007 to 2008.
Amodei was a NV State Assemblyman from 1996 to 1998, elected twice as a NV State Senator from 1998 to 2010. In a special election in September 2011, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives where he continues to faithfully represent his constituents in CD2.
