Carson City releases plow map, advises residents to limit travel
The Consolidated Municipality of Carson City is advising residents and visitors in the Nevada state capital to limit travel on city streets and roadways.
"Please use extreme caution when approaching intersections with traffic lights," the city said in a statement. "Blowing snow has covered the Carson City area traffic signals, which has affected the visibility of signals."
Plow and sand operations continue on both primary and secondary streets, the city said. In the event of a street closure, the city will update the status map at carson.org/alerts. Also see attached plow map. Or go here to see the updated map online.
"Carson City Public Works is utilizing all plow equipment at maximum capacity," the city stated. "Due to the amount of snow and the available resources, crews cannot plow streets that are not primary or secondary."
For snow and tree limb concerns call (775) 887-2355 and for emergencies dial 9-1-1.
