Carson City road conditions for Tuesday, Feb. 5
Snow-covered roads throughout the region have resulted in travel restrictions for the Tuesday morning commute.
Traction tires or chains are required on the following roadways in Carson City and surrounding areas:
— Interstate 580, both directions, through Carson City from the Spooner Junction at South Carson Street and U.S. Highway 50 West to Eastlake Blvd on top of Lakeview Hill.
— Interstate 580 through Washoe Valley from mile post 0.5 to mile post 15 in Washoe County.
— Old U.S. Highway 395 Alternate from the Washoe County line to mile post 7.22 in Washoe County.
— U.S. Highway 50 East from N. Carson Street to Deer Run Road in Carson City, and from mile post 14.0 in Carson City to mile post 14.0 in Lyon County.
— U.S. Highway 50 West from the Douglas County line near Spooner Summit to mile post 7.6 in Carson City.
— U.S. Highway 395 from the Douglas County and state line to mile post 31.4 in Douglas County.
— SR 207 (Kingsbury Grade): From the U.S. Highway 50 junction at Stateline to Foothill Road in the Carson Valley.
— SR 341: From the Lyon County line to mile post 10.8 in Storey County, and from mile post 0.0 to mile post 6.3 (Geiger Grade) in Washoe County.
Many snow-covered roads may have ice underneath covering the asphalt. Motorists should use caution and adjust for Winter driving conditions.
