Carson City area motorist report for Monday: Cold and sunny, clearing conditions
Public Works crews from Carson City and the Nevada Department of Transportation were busy Monday morning digging out, sanding and plowing roads from all the lake effect snow that happened Sunday.
For Reno bound motorists, chains or snow tires are required on I-580 in both directions from South Carson Street to Eastlake Exit 44 in Carson City. At around 7:50 Monday morning there was a rollover accident in the northbound lane of I-580 north of the Bellevue Exit. At least one person was injured.
At around 8:35 a.m. there was an accident reported on the southbound side of Highway 395 and Ironwood in Carson Valley.
Road conditions are icy and slick throughout the region, including Highway 395 through Carson Valley and Highway 50 over Spooner Summit, and State Route 207 over Kingsbury Grade where chains and snow tires are required.
