Carson City emergency crews respond to crash at Highway 50 east near Deer Run
Carson City Fire Department, sheriff's deputies and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called early Sunday morning to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 50 East near Flint Road, about 3/4 of a mile from Deer Run Road.
Two people suffered injuries in the crash, which was reported at around 2 a.m. One person was transported to the hospital via ground ambulance.
The crash is believed to have happened in the eastbound lane in which the vehicle came to rest in the westbound lane, according to a Carson City sheriff's deputy who first arrived on scene.
Traffic in the westbound lane of Highway 50 East was halted to allow for emergency vehicles and a subsequent investigation. Traffic in the eastbound lane moved slowly with brief closures to allow for traffic.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
