Sun teases Carson City Friday afternoon
That strange glow in the sky south of the Carson City area on Friday afternoon was not an illusion.
After days of being held captive by a weather inversion, Carson City caught a glimpse of the sun, which broke through the low-lying cloud cover that has shrouded its light for days.
Temperatures, however, remained chilly in the low 30s Friday and much of the inversion cloud cover has continued to stick around.
But the weekend fortunes are forecast to change overnight into Saturday, which the National Weather Service in Reno expects to be partly to mostly sunny with a daytime high temperature of around 44 degrees.
Sunday is also expected to reach into the mid-40s with partly sunny skies, the NWS reported.
