Wreaths Across America returns Saturday to Carson City's Lone Mountain Cemetery
Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City will again be a location for the 2018 national “Wreaths Across America” remembrance event this Saturday, Dec. 15.
Each year, the national non-profit organization coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery as well as more than 1,200 locations across the U.S., at sea and abroad. Last December marked the inaugural event of Wreaths Across America in Carson City and was organized by the Carson City Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol.
Numerous volunteers of all ages participate by placing wreaths on veterans’ graves, thanking them for their service with a salute and moment of silence.
There are more than 1,700 veterans buried at the Carson City Lone Mountain Cemetery.
This year's event will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15. To sponsor a wreath, go here.
Wreaths Across America partners with like-minded organizations that share common missions and goals to build awareness for the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform, and that of their families.
