A 39-year-old man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail for a felony warrant alleging lewdness with a child under 14 years of age.

Kristopher Munn of Zephyr Cove was brought to the jail by a Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputy. The warrant was issued Dec. 7, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $150,000.

In other arrests:
— A 37-year-old Mound House woman, Jessica Elaine Muench, was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony grand larceny and violation of parole and probation, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, a deputy responded to Walmart in the 3200 of Market Street regarding a larceny. The deputy met with a Loss Prevention Associate who advised the woman had paid for seven items at the self-checkout and then left the self-checkout with multiple unpaid items, amounting to $729.17, passing all points of payment and leaving the store.

She was stopped by Loss Prevention and escorted to its office. She provided identification and after approximately 15 minutes she left the office and store in a Dodge Durango, according to the arrest report.

A deputy was shown video surveillance as she was escorted to the office. The deputy confirmed her identity and contacted Lyon County in an attempt to locate the woman.

Lyon County advised they located the woman at her home. The deputy responded and made contact with her, observing she was in the same clothing she was wearing when she attempted to steal the items from Walmart, the arrest report states.

The deputy explained the situation and advised of the Miranda warning, which she said she understood her rights. She told the officer she paid for a couple of items in the electronics section at Walmart and then continued shopping, selecting Christmas decorations and food items.

She said she went to the self-checkout and paid for approximately 7 items. She said she forgot to pay for the remaining items and went to leave the store. She was stopped and voluntarily went to the Loss Prevention office. She said she could no longer wait there because she had to pick up her children from school and so she left the store.

The deputy asked if she had picked up her children. She said that it was too late and they took the bus home. She was advised she failed to pay for an entire cart of items totaling $729.

The deputy was advised by a Parole and Probation officer, who arrived at the woman’s home at the time of the investigation, that she has been on probation with a condition to not enter any Walmart store. She was taken into custody and booked for grand larceny and the parole and probation violation. Bail: $25,000.

— A 21-year-old Dayton man was arrested early Wednesday for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI drugs, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and 2 other charges, a sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report a deputy was patrolling the area of North Carson Street and observed a vehicle going northbound with a non-functioning driver side headlamp.

The deputy followed to vehicle and activated his emergency red and blue lights. The vehicle turned southbound on North Stewart Street and failed to yield to the deputy’s patrol vehicle. The deputy used his horn in an attempt to get the vehicle to yield. The vehicle continued to operate. The deputy used his patrol car intercom system, ordering the driver to stop. The vehicle stopped in the middle of the intersection of East Spear and North Fall streets.

The deputy made contact with the driver, who made multiple odd comments the officer did not understand, the arrest report states. The officer asked the man if he had been drinking. The man replied he had “too much to drive” and stated he had been drinking at a bar.

He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests. During the medical questionnaire, the man stated he was trying to get to the “Christmas tree” because he saw a light and felt vibrations, the arrest report states.

He continued to make odd statements through the sobriety tests. He showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath sample with a result of .017. Based on the officer’s observations during contact and his failure to yield when the deputy attempted to pull him over the man was arrested for suspicion of DUI drugs, failure to yield, obstructed windshield and lamps required. He agreed to an evidentiary blood sample and was booked without incident. Bail: $1,473.

— A 37-year-old transient was arrested early Wednesday in the 3000 block of Highway 50 East for misdemeanor operating an unregistered vehicle and being in violation of pre-trial conditions.

According to the arrest report, a deputy observed a blue Ford Mustang pull out of a convenience store parking lot. The vehicle did not have rear license plates. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and explained the reason for the stop. The man told the officer he had just gotten the vehicle and had not registered it.

The officer could smell an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The man said there was a marijuana pipe inside the vehicle.

A wants and warrant check was conducted. Dispatch advised the man was on Department of Alternative Sentencing supervision and was not to be in possession of drugs or paraphernalia. Alternative Sentencing advised he be taken into custody for the violation. Bail: $3,112.

— A 57-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 12:24 p.m. in the 2700 block of Sherman Lane for a misdemeanor traffic failure to appear warrant issued out of Carson City Municipal Court. Bail: $215.
