Florida reports 120 new coronavirus deaths, hospitalizations approach 30K

The number of new coronavirus cases in Florida climbed by more than 7,000 on Thursday, and statewide hospitalizations etched near 30,000.

According to the Florida Department of Health, the state reported 510,389 cases of the virus, an increase of 7,650 cases since Wednesday. Florida also reported a total of 7,871 deaths, an increase of 120 over the day before.

A total of 29,131 people had to go to the hospital because of the virus, an increase of 558 since Wednesday.

Palm Beach County

  • Total cases: 35,737
  • Resident cases: 35,386
  • Deaths: 892

Martin County

  • Total cases: 3,712
  • Resident cases: 3,688
  • Deaths: 87

St. Lucie County

  • Total cases: 5,514
  • Resident cases: 5,492
  • Deaths: 148

Indian River County

  • Total cases: 2,424
  • Resident cases: 2,409
  • Deaths: 51

Okeechobee County

  • Total cases: 789
  • Resident cases: 785
  • Deaths: 7
