Eater Seeks North Carolina Contributors

Live in North Carolina? Want to write for Eater? Read on.

Erin Perkins is the editor of Eater Carolinas.

Are you obsessed with the dining scene in North Carolina? Do you have proven journalistic chops? There might just be a spot for you here at Eater.

We’re currently seeking a smart, enthusiastic writer with extensive knowledge of the state’s restaurant scene to contribute maps, neighborhood guides, and other stories to Eater on a freelance basis. Social media savvy and photography skills are an added bonus. This team member will round out the site’s existing group of writers and photographers. We’re particularly looking for someone comfortable with learning new CMS/online publishing systems.

If you know Raleigh, Asheville, Chapel Hill, Durham, Wilmington, Charlotte, or in between, let us know.

Shoot a brief email here with the subject line “North Carolina Eater Contributor.” Include a little bit about yourself and any relevant professional experience, along with a previous writing sample or two. (If you have a personal website, Twitter, and/or Instagram, links to those would be helpful as well.) No childhood food memories, please — we’re more interested in the skills you bring to the table.

If you’re serious about getting started, include three pitches that you think would work for the site. If we like what we see, we’ll be in touch quickly.
