Uptown
Let’s start with this two-bedroom condo in an attractive 1928 brick courtyard building in the Buena Park neighborhood of Uptown. The 1,450-square-foot unit includes hardwood floors, a fireplace, a separate dining area, and a front patio. A single reserved parking space is included in the $275,000 asking price.
Hyde Park
In Hyde Park, $275,000 gets you this three-bedroom, two-bathroom second-floor walkup. The sunny, 1,350-square-foot residence has an inviting foyer leading to a comfortable living room and formal dining room and features hardwood floors and crown molding throughout. Located across from the Kenwood Academy High School, the property is a short walk from the lakefront and a Whole Foods.
South Loop
As we move closer to downtown, unit sizes get smaller as is the case with the 806-square-footer along Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s South Loop. Perched on the fifth floor of a mid-rise building, the single-bedroom condo offers an efficient layout with a walk-through master closet, a sunny balcony, and expansive western views through floor-to-ceiling windows. Own it for $269,999.
Old Town
Looking further north, this similarly sized condo listed for $259,900 is conveniently located near the border of the Old Town and Gold Coast neighborhoods. The 11th-floor corner unit gets lots of light and includes an updated kitchen, a single large bedroom, and a balcony. The Red Line is just across the street and Oak Street Beach is a short walk away.
Lincoln Park
Buyers looking for a stylish one-bedroom pied-a-terre should definitely consider this condo located in Mies van der Rohe’s iconic 2400 North Lakeview building in Lincoln Park. The heavily renovated space gives off a minimalistic vibe thanks to its concrete floors and a sleek but compact kitchen. Asking $259,888, the sharp-looking property unit is also the cheapest of the bunch.
