A man was killed in a shooting Sunday in Scottsdale on the Southwest Side.

The 27-year-old was shot in the chest at 2:18 a.m. in the 8400 block of South Kenneth Avenue, according to Chicago police. Witnesses told police a vehicle with two males inside drove up and at least one of the occupants fired shots at him.

A family member drove the man to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was identified as Terry Gardener Jr., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. He lived in the same block where he was shot.

An autopsy released Monday found he died of a gunshot wound to the chest, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
