A man was shot to death Friday in Gresham on the South Side, according to police.

Anthony Robinson, 37, was walking down the 1700 block of West 79th Street at 8:45 p.m. when a male exited a gangway and fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Robinson was struck in his head, chest and shoulder, and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, authorities said. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy conducted Saturday said he died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide.
