A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Thursday in West Garfield Park, police said.
They were on the sidewalk about 4:30 p.m. in the 300 block of South Kildare Avenue when they heard shots and felt pain, Chicago police said.
A 44-year-old man was struck in the shoulder and leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified him as Robert Johnson of Maywood.
An autopsy confirmed he died of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
The other man, 21, was shot in the hand and taken to the same hospital in fair condition, police said.
No arrests have been reported. Area Four detectives are investigating.
