CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Montgomery County hit another unwelcome milestone over the weekend, passing 1,000 active coronavirus cases just three weeks before the start of school.

As of Monday, Aug. 10, there are now 1,034 active cases of COVID-19 reported locally, down from 1,048 on Sunday, according to data shared by Joey Smith, Montgomery County Health Department director.

  • 1,943 lab confirmed and 9 probable cases for a total of 1,952 since March 6
  • 13 new cases today out of 202 new test results
  • 905 total recovered

  • 13 total deaths
  • 198 total school-age cases (5-18)
  • 0 new hospitalizations (residence correction)
  • 85 total hospitalizations
  • 25,389 total negative lab results

Free COVID-19 testing is offered by the Montgomery County Health Department in a temporary location at Civitan Park, 650 Bellamy Lane, from 7 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday. Follow the signs to the drive-up testing site.
