Eight New Coronavirus Cases Reported Sunday

New coronavirus cases in Big Horn, Sheridan and Uinta counties brought the state’s number of confirmed cases since the virus was first detected in Wyoming to 734 on Sunday.

The Wyoming Department of Health, in its daily coronavirus update, said two new cases were reported in both Big Horn and Sheridan counties, while Uinta County saw an increase of four.

As of Sunday morning, 263 cases had been confirmed in Fremont County since the pandemic reached Wyoming in mid-March; 122 in Laramie County; 69 in Teton County; 68 in Natrona County; 34 in Washakie; 24 in Albany and Sweetwater counties; 19 in Campbell and Uinta; 14 in Converse, Johnson and Sheridan; 11 in Lincoln; nine in Carbon; eight in Hot Springs; seven in Big Horn; five in Crook; four in Goshen and two in Park. Niobrara, Platte, Sublette and Weston counties each had one case.

The number of recoveries seen since the mid-March remained at 757 on Sunday, 577 among patients with confirmed cases and 180 among those with probable cases.

Probable cases are defined as those when a patient has coronavirus symptoms and has been in contact with someone with a confirmed case, but has not been tested. The number probable cases seen in Wyoming since mid-March also remained at 213 on Sunday.

The number of active cases grew slightly to total 175 on Sunday, 142 confirmed cases and 33 probable cases.
