Cruise lines are slashing fares by up to 70 per cent in a concerted effort to attract passengers back to holiday on the high seas post COVID-19 pandemic.

Blue Lagoon Cruises is offering 70 per cent off on its three, four and seven day cruises in Fiji Islands for the first 70 passengers who book a cruise under its “buy-now-pay-later” 70th birthday sale.

A three-night cruise on Fiji Princess departing Port Denarau to experience the beautiful Fiji Islands for travel up to 31 March 2021 starts from $1721pp.

Royal Caribbean is offering a Super Splash Sale with savings up to $550 plus up to 30 per cent off every guest for sailings in 2021.

Prices for a two-night sampler cruise on Radiance of the Seas departing Brisbane on 13 March 2021 start from $317 pp for an interior room. A five-night Tasmania cruise on Serenade of the Seas departing Sydney on 10 February 2021 costs from $712 pp for an interior room.

P&O has a Flash Sale with a $1 deposit and room upgrade if you book by 9 June 2020. Prices for a four-night cruise on Pacific Dawn in the Whitsundays departing Brisbane on 13 October 2020 start at$386pp for a four-person interior room.

P&O also has a three-night itinerary on Pacific Adventure departing Sydney on 12 March 2021 with prices starting at $441pp for a four-person interior room.

Cruise and Maritime Voyages has slashed prices by 20 per cent plus a special Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Price promotion where one guest pays the full price and the second guest pays 50 per cent off. Prices for a weekend escape on Vasco da Gama departing Adelaide on 4 December 2020 start from $439pp – down from $549. The second passenger pays only $219 for the interior room.

A four-night cruise on Vasco da Gama to Southeast Asia departing Sydney on 30 November 2020 start from $859pp – down from $1069pp –  for an interior room with the second passenger paying only $429.

The deals come as the country gradually lifts restrictions although there is no confirmation when overseas travel would be allowed.

However, the Australian Border Force has banned cruise lines from entering Australian waters until 17 September.
